The movie It Ends with Us, directed by Justin Baldoni has been drawn from a famous book by Collen Hoover. This drama, that starts with a woman that is conflicted with love, has some very weird a mixed critic. Though the story is about the abuse she received, the screen adaptation went more into her romance and love life.

While sitting on a rooftop on top of an apartment complex, she meets a potential lover, Ryle, played by Justin Baldoni, a neurosurgeon that was looking for a lover. A love not so important at first but serious for her, for she decides not to fling. But during a restaurant visit, in his trying to impress her, she meets a friend of the past. A “friend” that was once someone who had a crush on her. Lily is stuck, in a relationship that she vowed to, but doesn’t want.

She is trapped in an abusive relationship. Slaps with “sorry” after, falling down the stairs that was apparently an accident. This woman can’t leave, but when she decides to have her child, to have a future in her hands. She decides that this can’t happen anymore. The story of her parents’ relationship was not going to be repeated. So, her love decided that this abuse and hatred was going to stop with her child. “It ends with us.”

Love can sometimes be that way. To one person it can mean sorrow and abuse, to another- it can mean peace and prosperity. Maybe it’s the love that we get in peace. Right when she meets Atlas in the Farmer’s market. Her peace, in the decision of saving her child from abuse and having to witness it, rewarded her with a promise of true love.
