Aníbal Muñoz: The Legacy of a Pioneer

This Friday, March 28th, as the closing day of English Week, we had the honor of having Dr. Aníbal Muñoz Claudio, a professor in the English Department at the University of Puerto Rico in Humacao. The professor is known for works such as "Kujón," "El Tiempo Boricua," and "Terremoto: Mi historia". He is one of the first Puerto Rican authors to use English as a first language in his literary works. Throughout his career, he has promoted the development of bilingualism among young people. During the conference, he told us to cherish the time we spend in classrooms taking the classes. He shared that during his time in the military, he was sent to a small class to master English, and that thanks to that one hour he spent in English class as a child, he was able to excel and quickly master the language. Finally, he left us with the message that, no matter how small, we should always take advantage of the opportunities that come our way. We deeply thank professor Muñoz for joining us and sharing his knowledge.
